Virtual Weekend Retreat 2017-11-10T11:15:23+00:00

The notion that it requires years or decades of self-inflicted frustration to create a relevant literary work of art is simply untrue. These unwarranted misrepresentations keep one’s burning desire to tell a story and share it with the world muffled and weak.

It is BECAUSE they have NOT experienced the healing benefits of releasing their book, they bear the weight of inauthenticity and frustration. True emotional pain plagues the individual who knows there is a book inside of them, destined to be birthed, but has not been able to bring it into the light of creation.

When in alignment with our divine inspiration and expression, and able to get and stay out of our own way, so-called “miracles” happen, like the writing of a book in a weekend.

We’ve heard all the reasons why people do not feel like they can powerfully attend a live retreat.

Including: I______________

  • Have too many responsibilities.
  • Cannot take time away from family, work, personal responsibilities.
  • Do not have the financial means to travel.
  • Have a health issue that prevents me from doing a retreat in person.

Most of us have studied about or subscribed to the wrong ideologies about writing. It can and should be a truly spiritual experience, regardless of your ability to travel and attend in person.

Hence the Tom Bird Method Virtual Weekend Retreat was born!

With the gift of modern technology, participants are able to embrace four aspects of writing as an innate art form: Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, and Mental. When done from the holistic Divine Author Within space, the magic of writing provides a heart-centered connection that uncovers life’s mysteries and creates permanent life-changing transformation.

The process will also:

  • Act as a direct conduit to your inner-truth
  • Heal and improve all areas of your life: health, spiritual, professional, relationship
  • Offer up the real opportunity to pursue a career as an author
  • Build your platform and significantly enhance your professional career

The virtual retreat happens in conjunction with a live retreat, with only a few technical requirements. Over the course of these long weekends, 95% of attendees finish the writing of their books for a wide-array of reasons, including publication, creative expression, professional development, healing, and transformation.

Workshop Specifics

All of the phases of the retreat support the loving communion between yourself, your spirit, and your book – with all the other writers in the room (those in-person and those attending virtually).

After your registration is complete, you will receive an email within a day acknowledging that your place at the retreat has been reserved.

You’ll receive an itinerary and instruction packet via email.  There will also be an invitation to set up appointment to review your documents and what you should do to prepare.

It is our pre-retreat responsibility to help remove the effects of any inappropriate education or training that you may have experienced that has kept you from achieving the results you deserve with your writing/publishing endeavors.

If you properly prepare for the retreat, you come ready to release your book.  Registered for a retreat close-in and do not have time to do all the prep work?  Do your best.

The prep-work can take anywhere from 6 to 20 hours and includes:

  • Downloading audio files to listen to when you write (you receive these as part of your registration)
  • Reading and completing writing exercises from several of Tom’s books (you receive these as part of your registration)
  • Watching video
  • Attend complimentary webinars with Tom and other participants to have any remaining questions answered or concerns addressed.
  • Gathering supplies (any office supply store will have the items suggested for the writing and editing process.

Information on the weekly pre-retreat assignments are available after you complete your registration.

Retreat Schedule:

Thursday – 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday – 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday – 7:00am to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday – 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Thursday evening:  Pre-retreat clearing session before the retreat “officially” begins. The purpose of this session is to get you “in the flow” with your book.  With the prep-work education and understanding in place, you are primed and ready to write.

Friday morning:  After a short introduction, the retreat begins, and within thirty minutes you are writing your book.

What is the average length of an American book these days? 35,000 words. So you can immediately see where the ability to write your book over the course of a long weekend comes into play.

Saturday and Sunday:  Writing/revising continues through the second and third day and concludes on Sunday at 2 p.m.

You can write your book in long-hand or on your laptop computer (you are not required to use a laptop).  If you are a speedy typist, you can save the step of having to type your entire manuscript at a later time.

Taking care of yourself when writing for 8 hours a day:

  • There are designated breaks for breakfast and lunch
  • Dress comfortably
  • Have plenty of healthy snacks and water on hand
  • We strongly encourage the avoidance of caffeine before and during the writing sessions

Set up a quiet, undisturbed space free from outside distractions with phone muted and daily tasks handled or assigned to someone else. Computer set up and plugged in with ability to save to hard drive, flash drive, or Cloud. Wear comfortable clothing and have a comfortable place to write. Have plenty of fresh drinking water and healthy snacks.

We utilize Zoom (, which is a free web conferencing service for you.
