Freshly out of the exhilarating and transformative weekend retreat in Sedona, this is an opportune time to answer a question I’m frequently asked: “What are your retreats like for you?”
- Each retreat has a unique personality, path, and destiny, so for me, every retreat is like going down a very familiar road for the first time.
- All of us on retreat, myself included, receive a bundle of unexpected, life-changing and enlightening surprises.
- With hundreds of hours of webinars, interviews, prep work, itinerary reviews, calls, emails, and meetings that we collectively put into each retreat, finally being together in this sacred space is like unwrapping presents at a big birthday party or major holiday.
- Certain stretches of each retreat are soul-rattlingly exhausting. Particularly during the early hours of the first full day when, collectively, the authors are releasing their own deep stuff. During this time, my physical training and regimen as a spiritual being is tested. It can feel like my soul is frantically scurrying to carry the results of their emotional residues out to the spiritual curb to be picked up and disposed of by a being greater than us all.
- After the literary dam breaks and authors begin completing writing their books at a phenomenal pace, it’s hectic. Just the way I like it. As instructed, authors seek me out once they believe their books have completed writing themselves. I am privileged to share in their joy, surprise, shock, relief, and the great anticipation of the “next step.”
- I cry alongside many an author as they share the touching details of their journey.
- Never sure when or if I will see my newfound friends again after our collective life-changing weekend, the good-byes leave my heart somewhat heavy.
- Upon completing a retreat, I am soulfully grateful that I gave every bit of myself to free other authors and other books for the betterment of us all. Having honored what my heart and this divine connection have led me to do, I am free.
It’s delightful to share my experience with you. Just know that I am right alongside you, long after the retreat ends.
Keep writing!
I hope to see you soon,
Tom
