I dislike rushing for anything. I’m much more of a glide-through-life, stop-and-smell-the-roses type of guy; just knowing I am in the present. This fact has benefited me greatly, for always knowing where I am enables me to be fully in the state of being referred so eloquently by Eckhart Tolle as “The Now.”
To ensure I am fully in The Now, I regularly take time to tune in and see where my soul is. To accomplish this, I perform a version of the following exercise whenever the urge strikes me; it almost always coincides with my soul’s desire to get a message through to me.
To perform the exercise I usually set aside a morning or afternoon, but you can take as much or as little time as you need.
Today’s Writing Exercise
- Set aside a time and place of your choosing.
- Turn on the meditative Writing Audio that is played at all of our retreats (if you don’t have a copy already, it can be downloaded here) and allow yourself into the Divine Author Within state.
- Listen with your heart. Allow yourself to become emotional if you are so led.
- When you are in your Divine Author Within state ask these following questions:
- Where are we going this year?
- How are we going to get there?
- What do I need to physically, emotionally. and logistically do to fulfill my role in this plan for my life?
- Feel free to ask any follow-up or clarifying questions of your choice as well.
Throughout the exercise, always remember: You are brave. You are guided, protected, loved, and safe.
See you soon … Tom
